Parliamentary elections are scheduled to be held in Bulgaria on April 19, 2026. This market will resolve to the next individual who is officially sworn in as Prime Minister of Bulgaria following the next parliamentary election. To count for resolution, the individual must be formally sworn in. Any interim or caretaker Prime Minister will not count toward the resolution of this market. If no such Prime Minister is appointed by March 31, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to “Other”. The primary resolution source for this market will be official information from the Government of Bulgaria; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.Former President Rumen Radev's Progressive Bulgaria alliance holds a commanding poll lead of around 33%—well ahead of GERB-UDF at 19%—in surveys like Sova Harris from early April, propelling trader consensus to a 94.6% implied probability for him as next prime minister ahead of the April 19 snap parliamentary election. This dominance arises from his January 2026 presidential resignation to launch the coalition amid voter exhaustion with corruption scandals, budget protests that forced Rosen Zhelyazkov's December 2025 ouster, and repeated failed coalition talks in prior elections. Bulgaria's proportional representation ensures no outright majority, positioning Radev for the initial exploratory mandate from acting President Iliyana Yotova. Realistic challenges include post-election coalition breakdowns with parties like Revival or PP-DB, low turnout favoring incumbents, or late scandals mirroring historical deadlocks that triggered eight votes since 2021.
