Barcelona holds a commanding nine-point lead atop the La Liga table after 31 matchdays, with 79 points from a league-best 26 wins, one draw, and four losses, boasting 84 goals scored and a +54 goal difference that underscores their attacking dominance and defensive solidity under Hansi Flick. Recent Matchday 31 results cemented this positioning: Barcelona's 4-1 home win over Espanyol contrasted Real Madrid's 1-1 draw against Girona, following Madrid's earlier 2-1 loss to Mallorca that widened the gap. Villarreal trails far behind in third at 61 points. Trader consensus reflects Barcelona's superior recent form and easier remaining fixtures, though a Real Madrid winning streak combined with Barcelona injuries or a catastrophic collapse could theoretically challenge the outcome.
