Detroit Tigers lead trader consensus at 45.5% implied probability for the 2026 AL Central crown, bolstered by the AL's eighth-highest payroll at $236.6 million, ace Tarik Skubal's Cy Young pedigree, recent rotation addition Framber Valdez, and top prospect Kevin McGonigle's hot Opening Day debut with four hits, despite a sluggish 4-5 or 7-9 start yielding the best division run differential. Kansas City Royals trail at 31.0% following their 2025 momentum and $181.9 million investment in Bobby Witt Jr. and a competitive 7-8 record, positioning them as viable challengers. Cleveland Guardians' 20.5% share reflects early 9-6 standings edge tempered by low $97 million payroll and key injured list stints for Hunter Gaddis (forearm), Gabriel Arias (hamstring), and bullpen depth. Minnesota Twins (4.5%) and Chicago White Sox (2.0%) lag in standings, projections, and roster strength.
